The Bright's Farm Warehouse Grain 2005 trail (results) (photos) was a challenging ride over rolling hills for most of the way, but with a significant hill climb and descent at the end. The target completion time for the 23 kilometres was 2 hours and 30 minutes for the Warehouse Grain and Junior grades. The Novice grade covered the same distance in a target time of 3 hours 5 minutes, and riders had to keep up the pace during the easier stages to make up for the tough going later.

Bright's Farm 23k trail profile (Novice, Junior, Warehouse Grain)

The 2005 trails ran in the reverse (clockwise) direction as compared with the 2004 trails, so that the longest hill climb came at the end of the trail rather than the beginning. As in the past, from the start line, the riders do two circuits of the vetting paddock before exiting to the trail proper. The Warehouse Grain trail travelled north and northwest for nearly half the distance, roughly following transmission lines over rolling hills across farmland. Turning south into a gully for the return journey, the trail covers more rolling country before rising through forest to the highest point. The descent to the finish line is quite short at just over 1 kilometre.
